Spa baths for Nordic climate

Spa baths designed for calm, comfort and quality – year-round

A spa bath is more than warm water. It is a place for recovery, conversation and stillness – regardless of season. At Elsy Spa, we create spa baths with a focus on experience, durability and thoughtful design. Every detail is chosen to provide a bath that feels just as natural on a cold winter evening as on a calm summer evening.

What is a spa bath – and why does quality matter?

A spa bath combines heat, water movement and ergonomics to create relaxation and well-being. But the difference between different spa baths is not always immediately apparent – it shows after a while. How quiet is the system when everything is running? How does the massage feel after thirty minutes, not three? How does the bath feel when used often, year-round? A well-designed spa bath is built for the whole experience – not just to look good at first glance.

A spa bath that fits your lifestyle

Our spa baths are developed for people who value both function and feel. For the family that bathes year-round. For couples seeking calm, quiet massage and quality time. For those who prioritize design as highly as comfort. Whatever your situation, we have a spa bath that suits your needs.

Not all spa baths are built the same way

Spa baths come in many designs and materials, and the differences affect more than you might initially think. Lifespan, noise level, feel and how the bath ages over time are all determined by the construction. Our philosophy is simple: a spa bath should be built for long-term use, with a focus on quality in every detail – from frame to system and finish.

A spa bath that blends into its surroundings

Design is just as important as function. A spa bath should harmonize with its surroundings – whether placed on a terrace, by a pool or in a natural environment. Clean lines, balanced proportions and discreet details make the bath feel timeless rather than trend-driven. It is a spa bath that elevates the whole, not dominates it.

Common questions about spa baths

Here we have gathered common questions about spa baths – based on what our customers most often wonder about before their purchase. Our goal is to give you a safe, long-term and enjoyable spa experience, adapted for Nordic climate and frequent use. If you need personal advice, we are happy to help.

The total operating cost consists primarily of electricity, water treatment and filters. It therefore makes a significant difference how often, how long and how many people are bathing. Our spa baths are extremely well insulated. The entire frame is built from EPS insulation and the cover has a high insulation value. At current electricity prices, the cost is typically 200-600 SEK/month depending on usage and season.

Many of our customers with full insulation and tech box turn off the heat during the summer months. The reason is simple: the insulation retains heat so well that solar heat and waste heat from the pump often maintain the desired temperature without the heater needing to run.

Our spa baths should be chlorinated sparingly. They are therefore equipped with UV purification which also helps remove bacteria from the water. A chlorine level of between 0.5-1.5 is appropriate in these baths. Shock chlorination should only be done after each water change.

The heater heats the spa bath at approximately 2-3 degrees per hour.

Yes. Spa baths are designed to be used year-round – even in sub-zero temperatures. With the right insulation, cover and circulation, the temperature is kept stable even during cold winter months. Many people find that winter bathing provides the most relaxing experience.

With normal use, water changes are recommended 3-4 times per year. If the bath is used frequently or by many people, water changes may be needed more often. Regular water care extends the time between changes and contributes to better bathing comfort.

For the spa bath to function optimally, ongoing maintenance is required:

  • Check pH, chlorine, alkalinity, hardness and cyanuric acid levels
  • Clean filter every 1-3 months
  • Surface cleaning as needed – we include cleaning products and a cloth for this

Proper maintenance provides both a better bathing experience and longer lifespan. More information can be found in our manual.

For installation, you need a 400V power connection (or 230V for smaller models), a licensed electrician for the electrical connection, and a flat, stable surface that can bear the weight of the filled bath.
